2009 Quinta dos Carvalhais Duoque de Viseu Sogrape Dao,Portugal Vintages # 0980227 October 2nd release $12.95
Made from the indigenous Bical blended with Encruzado, Cercial and Malvasia Fina. Light and bright straw yellow in colour. Bouquet of tropical fruits, spicy white blossoms and just a touch of vanilla. Light to medium bodied and fresh with plenty of soft, white-fleshed summer fruit flavours and a long, very pleasant finish. A great value white wine to celebrate the end of summer with or try it with extra virgin olive oil and garlic roasted rabbit or Georgian Bay pickerel in butter, white wine, and lemon.

2008 Peter Lehmann Riesling Eden Valley South Australia Vintages # 0186361  October 2nd release $14.95
This is a truly excellent Riesling. It has a light straw colour with green hue. Aromas of apples, lemon and mint/mineral nuances. Light and so fresh with an almost tart finish, it’s almost screaming for food, try with butter -with sauteed escargots and bone marrow with a pinch of snow salt and squeeze of lemon or Hungarian cabbage rolls and you’ll love me forever for this reco combo, amen.

2008 Maxwell Four Roads Shiraz/Grenache/Viognier McLaren Vale South Australia Vintages # 0057000 October 2nd release $19.95
Purple in colour. Cassis, savoury – minty accents on its bouquet. Medium plus bodied with fresh and focused acidity, plush texture and very good fruit character and intensity; the finish is long and warm and also brings along a sweet and pleasant tannic bite. Try with rare venison loin with blueberry – mint – red wine reduction and salsify puree and the side, or with Lady Gaga’s blue – rare beef bra and bikini.
