Intrepid sommelier and frequent GFR correspondent Zoltan Szabo recently caught up with Cava Restaurant co-owner and front of the house man Niall McCotter in front of our cameras on a hot August afternoon.
Niall graciously poured Zoltan (and his handsome camera man) a glass of Isastegi natural cider from Spain’s Basque Country, and the two discuss its merits in the video below. Also discussed is Cava’s entry in the Front Street Food pop-up market, Cava Sur and an appeal to agents representing wines from Eastern Europe to submit them to a special Wine Writers’ Circle of Canada tasting at the restaurant on September 3rd.

Where can I get some of this cider?
I believe the importer is 30 .50 Imports – http://www.3050imports.com/ – try them. And/or drop by the bar at Cava!
Correction Malcolm …. Importer is Bogie’s Best Imports, just finishing up a private order for Isastegi …. call me at 226 222 1370 if interested.
Cheers
OK, apologies, Brian. That’s what Niall said. I somehow got confused, as I think Zoltan thought it was 30.50. Anyway, thank you for the correction, and I hope more people get to try it.
