One of the smallest Cru of Beaujolais, this romantically named village is also the most northerly. The 2021 vintage was cool and wet in this part of France, and the wine reflects that with a supple texture and spicy, mineral accented palate overlaid with lifted notes of kirsch, raspberry and violets. Best served with a light chill and a charcuterie board big enough to cover your entire coffee table.

Champagne has long been considered the wine of celebrations, special occasions and romance, and Valentine’s Day certainly ticks all those boxes, making this a natural pairing. Champagne Collet is the oldest co-operative in the region, and their network of growers allows them to source grapes from some of the finest vineyards in the region. This Brut Rosé is 50% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 10% Meunier, with the majority of fruit coming from premier cru vineyards. A generous dosage means this is a plush, approachable style – perfect for hot tubs and bearskin rugs.
