I was simply delighted to read that my favourite cookbook store, Good Egg, had returned to Toronto’s Kensington Market after a hiatus of over three years.
This week we sat down with Good Egg’s Mika Bareket (one of GFR’s original Good Food Fighters) to discuss what she’s been up to in the interim. She’s certainly been no slouch, both renovating her historical Kensington Market home and founding a new publishing imprint, Good Egg Books.
With a paperback (Blood) from acclaimed author Jennifer McLagan (Bitter, Odd Bits, Fat, and Bones), another (Limes) from old friend and food reporter Corey Mintz (How To Host A Dinner Party, The Next Supper: The End of Restaurants as We Knew Them, and What Comes After), and some other exciting titles in the hopper, the nascent Good Egg Books is certainly a publisher to watch.
Take it away, Mika…
