Two Sisters. One Vision. An Extraordinary Wine Experience.
Two Sisters Vineyards is thrilled to announce that it has been named as the “2018 Best Performing Small Canadian Winery of the year” at the 2018 WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada. These awards are held annually and recognize the best in Canadian wines within the nation’s wine industry. Two Sisters is honoured to receive this award since opening its doors to the public less than four years ago in November of 2014.
Two Sisters Vineyards is a boutique family-owned and operated winery located in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Co-proprietors Angela Marotta and Melissa Marotta-Paolicelli are two sisters with a commitment to producing premium award-winning Ontario wines that are recognized with some of the best varietals not only in Canada, but on the world stage and giving their guests an elevated Niagara winery experience that encompasses all the senses. This is achieved by producing quality vs. quantity, a high-level look and feel of the products and services, attention to detail and highly trained staff that shares their commitment with delivering an elevated luxury experience in both wine and culinary.
Inspired by the Italian table, the winery restaurant Kitchen76 is an extension of the Two Sisters Vineyards experience. It has quickly become recognized as a premiere destination not only in Niagara, but nationally. It has been designated within the ’Top 100 Restaurants in Canada’ through Opentable three years in a row for best Italian, as well as recognition for best outdoor terrace, most romantic and best restaurant for groups.
“Two Sisters Vineyards is an opportunity for us to share a deep family passion of celebrating life with wine and food through our eyes. From the moment our guests join us, they are invited into our home. We create memories that they want to share with their friends and loved ones.” Said Angela Marotta and Melissa Marotta-Paolicelli.
Head Winemaker Adam Pearce favours taking a non-interventionist approach to making the wines at Two Sisters Vineyards. Adam believes that wines begin in the vineyard, this is his motto and starting point for crafting award winning wines. More than anything, Adam is dedicated to creating wines that draw on the unique terroir and the location of the vineyard in the Niagara River VQA appellation. Thorough meticulous vineyard practices, including cropping for low yields, have blessed the winery with exceptional fruit. Such quality allows the winemaking team to fully express what our cool climate region can produce while respecting each variety’s true character.
When asked about the awards Pearce said “This top honour is a great recognition for the whole production team and all their hard work they have put in over the years. It is always nice to see our wines show so well at the national level. I am grateful to have the dedication from the family to grow top notch Niagara fruit and to be able to create world class wines.”
