The Draw:
A dynamite producer known for Riesling makes everything they touch gold. Case in point, the typically quiet Pinot Blanc roars to life here. Peaches, white flowers, tangerine, mineral, rose and honey. Lively and full of personality, perfect for late summer and early fall. Although not nearly as ubiquitous as Pinot Gris/Grigio, Pinot Blanc completely deserves our attention.Michele Faro and his team have made impressive leaps and bounds in quality – from the stunning historic vineyards, to the immaculately designed gravity-flow winery that is coated with slabs of volcanic stone. It is here that terroir joins art and comes to life. Vines are bush-trained; among them some stunning pre-phylloxera plantings.
The Winery:
The winemaking history of Maison Trimbach dates back to 1626. Since then, twelve generations have tirelessly drawn on their passion for Alsace. This familial legacy has established one of the most sterling reputations, particularly for the incredible Clos Sainte Hune vineyard Riesling.
Pairings and Tips:
Hearty and traditional! Warm up with tartiflette or a raclette spread, or keep it cool with a country pate. Serve just slightly chilled at about 12 degrees Celsius, and offer as alternative to your usual robust white choice.
