A couple of months back I noticed an unfamiliar book hanging around on our kitchen table alongside the cookbooks I had been flicking through. The book was Meghan Telpner’s UnDiet, and thinking it to be yet another mediocre diet program I found myself dipping into it, perhaps looking for something to snigger at (I can be strange that way at times). And here’s the strange thing… I found myself dipping into it again and again over the following weeks.
Eventually I came to realise that I had actually read the whole thing from cover to cover, and in doing so had inadvertently found myself making little adjustments to my own diet, particularly with regards to my intake of fruits, vegetables, seeds, and nuts. Given that my personal taste in cookbooks tends towards the more extreme end of nose-to-tail carnivory, my partner looked rather shocked when I explained to her that I had absorbed the entire thing.
Upon meeting Meghan in the flesh it quickly became apparent that the woman who had so charmed me through the pages of her book was even more ebullient in real life…
