Intimate Savour Stratford Tastings taking place in Stratford every Saturday in April, are a good way to celebrate spring. Culinary experts share their unique presentations with tasty locally produced foods from local fruit wine and cheese to sustainable fish choices and fair trade coffee and desserts presented in innovative ways in our lively restaurants and shops. Tasting tickets start at $25 (+HST) and can be purchased at Stratford Tourism Alliance in person, by phone or on-line.
Shawn Hartwell, Chef-Owner of Simple Fish and Chips, leads an edible seminar Know Your Sustainable Seafood – It’s Your Right! Enjoy seared Ocean Wise albacore tuna with a local arugula salad and pear salsa with a sample platter of Ocean Wise approved Purdy’s Yellow Perch and Pickerel. Learn what makes sustainable seafood taste so different! The tasting takes place at Simple Fish and Chips, 118 Downie Street beginning at 3:00 pm on April 9. Tickets are $25 (+HST).
Barrista Anne welcomes spring tasters to Revel Caffe as she serves the Las Chicas Del Café 2011 harvest with desserts created by Stratford Chefs School students at Coffee and Dessert, April 16. These delicious flavours will linger as you revel in your new coffee knowledge. The Tasting begins at 7:30 pm at Revel Caffe, 50 Wellington Street. Tickets are $25 (+HST).
Decorating Easter Cookies is well suited for family participation. Let Them Eat Cake, at 23 Albert Street, invites you to visit the restaurant anytime between 3:00 pm -5:00 pm on April 23 and have some fun decorating cookies for Easter. Let Them Eat Cake will do the baking. You just come and have fun decorating six large cookies, then take them away tucked into a pretty spring basket all ready for Easter. The cost is $25 (+HST).
On April 30, Dyann Birtch of Birtch Farms Estate Winery will present a selection of fruit wines for tasting paired with cheeses chosen by Liz Payne at The Milky Whey Fine Cheese Shop, 118 Ontario Street beginning at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $35 (+HST).
