Having just the other day returned from this year’s Convenanza music festival in Carcassonne, France, one of my very favourite memories is the afternoon I spent in the company of Vigneron Jérôme Joseph.
Last year we published a text interview with him and his business partner Laurent Calmel about their consistently excellent Languedoc Micro-négoçiant firm, Calmel & Joseph, and so it was a great pleasure to be given a tour of their delightful estate in the small village of Montirat, just outside of Carcassonne, by Jérôme himself (accompanied by both his lovely wife and energetic dog).
Due to time constraints, I was unable to taste through their sizeable (25 labels) portfolio, but you can be sure that I’ll be back sometime soon to go through the entire line-up, as I seem to be back in Carcassonne quite regularly these days.
After this tour of the Calmel & Joseph property we somehow convinced him to submit to a short video interview…
