Sonoma-Cutrer has been producing quality wines since it opened as a vineyard company in 1973. The Russian River region experiences long, even growing seasons thanks to the cool, foggy coastal climate. In the 70’s, the company planted several different grape varieties and virtually overnight Sonoma-Cutrer’s Chardonnay grapes had gained a reputation for exceptional quality and were in high demand by many premium wineries.

Sonoma-Cutrer is dedicated to the pursuit of original expression in the wines. Each wine reflects its regional and seasonal climate, its specific vineyard character – its terroir. They have adapted the Grand Cru method of winemaking. Carefully selected French oak barrels and fermentation at controlled temperatures are just two examples.

The Cutrer Chardonnay & Pinot Noir have just been released at the LCBO’s Vintages.

Today, Sonoma-Cutrer’s flagship wine, Russian River Ranches, is the most requested Chardonnay in North America’s finest restaurants.

2014 Russian River Ranches Chardonnay – Wine Align 90 points
Russian River Ranches is a cuvée of distinct vineyard lots, each contributing its own personality to the wine. It has nice bright acidity with a balanced long palate. Normally priced at $27.95 it is on a limited time offer at the LCBO for $24.95. This is a true gem of a wine for the price!

2013 The Cutrer Chardonnay – Cellar Tracker 91 points
The Cutrer Vineyard is multi-faceted, with microclimates throughout the vineyard. The soil characteristics, varied rootstocks, and diverse clones interact with the climate & soil to create different nuances in each block of the vineyard. It has aromas of ripe pear and honeydew melon and finishes on the palate with caramel and oak spice.

2014 Pinot Noir – Wine Enthusiast 91 points
This wine is round, silky, and elegant with a juicy mid-palate and a wonderful long finish, expressing all the hallmarks and elegance of a great Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. It was acclaimed as one of the best buys from the great 2014 vintage by the San Francisco Wine Chronicle Awards.
