Malcolm Jolley talks to Maryann Bautovich from the Napa sparkling house Schrambsberg…
The Napa house of Schramsberg has made only traditional method sparkling wines for more than fifty years. Maryann Bautovich handles their exports and she was recently in Toronto, with their agents The Vine, to pour and give a sneak peek to trade and media of three of their bubbly wines headed to the LCBO Vintages program next month. I met her and tasted Schramsberg’s Brut Rosé 2016, Blanc de Noirs 2015, and J Schram 2010. We discuss the wines in the video interview below, and all were on the crisp side of the sparkling spectrum with remarkable fruit: seriously made wines that were great fun.
