It appears that Remoissenet’s Msr. Repolt hasn’t aged in around 20 years. It must be all that Burgundy.

I first met Winemaker Bernard Repolt way back in 1996 at the Edinburgh Festival Theatre.

At the time he was the Chief Winemaker for the house of Jaffelin, and I was young and ambitious Sommelier attending one of his first Burgundy tastings and hoping to move to Canada within the coming 12 months.

Repolt was then working with Inniskillin on a collaborative project entitled Alliance (Niagara Pinot Noir and Chardonnay), and when he heard of my impending move offered to put me in touch with his friends at Vincor.

Having never forgotten his random act of kindness, it was with some delight I discovered that he was now overseeing the winemaking for the historied Burgundian house of Remoissenet, and that I would have the opportunity to interview him upon his recent visit to Toronto.
