Agronika Passerina 2018Passerina is an ancient and traditional grape variety found throughout central Italy. Though styles vary from region to region, it typically shows loads of ripe citrus fruit character. This example offers up bright grapefruit, petrichor and lime on the nose. The palate replays alongside a hint of rosewater and some classic Italian almond notes. |
Agronika Pinot Grigio Ramato 2018A unique take on Pinot Grigio. Ramato—meaning ‘copper’—is a classic Italian style found throughout the peninsula made by macerating the pink-hued grape on its skins to pick up lovely pale salmon colour and beautiful texture. This example is very pretty and lively, with soft gentle acids and just a hint of grippy tannin. Bright berry fruit, candied citrus and white peach. |
Jordan River Sauvignon Blanc 2018
From the hot, sunny climate of Jordan, this Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from vineyards surrounding an extinct volcano at an altitude of 840 meters. Refreshing and crisp, this showcases citrus aromas with hints of orange zest and a fresh flowery bouquet. Round and persistent on the palate, it finishes with a salty almond note that lingers.

Feravino DIKA Graševina 2018
You will find plantings of Graševina throughout central and eastern Europe, with particularly fine examples in Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. The 2018 vintage in Croatia’s interior was blessed with a long, hot summer and a dry harvest, which resulted in fantastic sugar levels and full phenolic ripeness. The DIKA from Feravino was left on its lees for 3 months in tank to develop extra mouthfeel and texture. Classic green apple, bitter almond and white flowers aromas alongside a touch of chamomile and stone fruit on the palate.

Barnard Griffin Chardonnay 2017Sourced from 4 Columbia Valley sites, including the famed Caroway Vineyard, grapes were fermentated in a combination of stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels. This has notes of Golden Delicious apple, ripe pear, creamy butterscotch and a hint of toasty oak. It is not heavy nor ponderous, but has good weight and concentration. The oak is interwoven nicely adding complexity without dominating the palate. Finishes long and luxuriously.

Erzetič Rebula 2018Rebula, known better as Ribolla Gialla, is the signature white grape of Slovenia. The Brda region is blessed with steep slopes and elevation which help moderate their hot, dry days and create wines with freshness, minerality and tension. This is light and thirst-quenching with notes of white flowers, grapefruit, Bosc pear and candied lemon.

Miss Valentine Rosé 2018A traditional Provençal blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. Hand-harvested early to preserve freshness, acids and finesse and fermented cool in stainless steel tanks. Lightly fined and filtered prior to bottling in a unique and super chic bottle. Fruit-driven but balanced, with notes of pink grapefruit, watermelon, cranberry and red berries.

Domaine Robert Perroud Enfer des Balloquets 2018Named after the slope of the Balloquets hill, this is sourced from a single vineyard that’s home to 50-year old Gamay planted in pink granite and clay soils. Fruit is hand-harvested, whole-cluster fermented in stainless steel tanks before a 9 month maturation in French foudres. The resulting wine is incredibly complex and fragrant with aromas of rich red berries, violets and kitchen spice. Mid-weight with a silky, round texture and a salty, mineral-inflected finish.

Salcheto Rosso di Montepulciano 2018One of the wine world’s leaders in sustainability, Salcheto is an ‘off-the-grid’, organic/biodynamic winery located outside the charming hillside town of Montepulciano. This a classic, youthful Tuscan red with tons of freshness and energy with bright, fresh red fruit aromas alongside hints of anise and leather. Mid-weight and framed by soft, supple tannins and refreshing acidity.
|
Longview Nebbiolo Fresco 2019A highly intriguing blend of Nebbiolo (37%), Pinot Nero (33%), Sangiovese (24%) and Barbera (6%), sourced entirely from Longview’s single-vineyard at Macclesfield. All fruit is cane pruned, shoot thinned early and bunch thinned up to three times during the growing season to control yields. All varieties were cold-fermented separately and left on lees with full malolactic conversion. The result is a young, vibrant and fresh wine with an amazing perfume of fresh berries overlaid by notes of rose petals and herbs. Mid-weight with refined tannins and zesty acids.

Dr. Frank Old Vines Pinot Noir 2017One of the pioneers of Finger Lakes wines, Dr. Konstantin Frank was instrumental in the development of this exciting, emerging region. Upon his arrival in the 1960s, he introduced vinifera vines like Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The long, cool 2017 growing season resulted in very nervy, mineral-laced wines. This Pinot is more Burgundy than California in style, expect bright red fruit alongside subtle notes of forest floor and French oak.

Aymar ICE 2013As the name implies, ICE was bottled to enjoy as a long drink over ice, preferably with a wedge of orange. It is a blend of Macabeo, Parellada and Chardonnay with a little touch of their ultra-rare house Vermouth as the dosage. This is classified as “Extra Dry” but has a wonderful fruit-forward entry reminiscent of gold delicious apple, honeysuckle and crushed white flowers. A creamy, mouth-filling mousse and zesty spritz of acidity lead to a crisp, spicy finish.
