Kellerei St. Magdalena Pinot Grigio 2016 – $17.95 —VINTAGES#: 249466 | 750 mL bottle Vintages Thematic Feature and Back Cover Grown at some 600 metres above sea level, this sub-lpine PG is more complex, crisp and textured than most. It’s lively and tangy with apple and pear fruit, a touch of blanched almond, a suggestion of mineral, lovely mouthfeel and impressive flavour intensity. Brilliant acidity drives the lip-smacking finish. Pair with chicken in a herb-and-cream sauce. (Vintages panel, Jan. 2018)

Neil Ellis Stellenbosch Pinotage 2015 $17.95 —VINTAGES#: 542167 | 750 mL bottle Top Value – South Africa Earthy and ripe, with dark berry fruit, plum, spice and tobacco tones. Strikes a great balance between the savoury and fruity notes. Good lift and vibrancy creates quite a refined, elegant expression. Try with a beef-and-lamb bobotie. (Vintages panel, June 2017)

Attractive cherry, mulberry, herb and spice nose with oak notes. Fruit dominated palate, complex and persistent with long smoky finish. Score – 91. (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2017)

Ma Verite Gerard Depardieu – AOC Haut Medoc 2005 $49.95 —VINTAGES#: 526913 | 750 mL bottle 92 Points Robert Parker The partnership between French actor Gerard Depardieu and proprietor Bernard Magrez has fashioned a sensational wine from an equal part blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Tasting like a top classified growth, this 2005 offers notes of cedar, creosote, smoked herbs, and plenty of black currant and sweet cherry fruit, medium to full body, beautiful purity, an expansive mouthfeel, and ripe tannin.
