Malcolm Jolley talks to Adam Lewis about Miura flash chilled coffee.
Adam Lewis is the founder of Miura, a canned coffee company with a difference. Lewis’, soon to be patented, technique of ‘flash chilled’ brewing is developed by practices established in Japan. The start-up company offers a regular Japanese-style canned coffee and one infused with nitrogen gas, which forms the smooth and tiny bubbles one might associate with a pint of Guiness. With or without bubbles, Lewis believes his technique renders a superior product, and he’s having initial success in the Toronto retail market.
I spoke to Adam Lewis, who is – full disclosure – a family friend, at Miura’s mid-town office to film the the video interview below, in which he explains why he developed Miura’s unique canned coffee experience.
