I caught up with creative non-fiction powerhouse Mary Roach by phone as she crossed the Rocky Mountains on her book tour for Gulp, which she sub-titles ‘Adventures on the Alimentary Canal’. In the audio interview below, I begin by exclaiming my delight that Roach chose a topic related to food and wine for her latest fun-fact-filled romp, and we talk about some of the amazing things she found out about the digestive system from, literally, nose to tail.
