In this second in a series of articles concerning how to get some great good food for less than $10 we look at a great little Indian Vegetarian spot that has been open for around 3 months. This Parkdale establishment comes highly recommended and is wonderfully healthy to boot.
Bhavna’s Food – Pure Vegetarian Indian Cuisine, 1422 Queen Street West (at Lansdowne), Toronto.
Open 11am – 11pm Closed Tuesday
Vegetarian Thali with three dishes, fresh roti, rice, salad, and two samosa for $7.90!!!
Edinburgh-born/Toronto-based Sommelier, consultant, writer, judge and educator Jamie Drummond is the Director of Programs/Editor of Good Food Revolution… and this bargain fits into his Good Food Resolutions rather nicely.

I might just spend some time there, food looks wonderfully authentic!
I’ve been there their samosa are so tiny and to top it off they were sour and slimey. I think they were spolied. I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon considering I have a lot more cheaper and better quality food that isn’t spoiled. They should work on there people skills would it kill you people to smile.
I spoke to the owner about the samosas, and he says he makes them in house now. I went by a week ago for the first time. Great food, great value!
I went to Bhavna’s Food yesterday and the food was amazing. The samosas were delicious and the service was great. But most importantly, the food was very cheap. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.
The samosa’s there are amazing! I went once and i was hooked, everytime I walk by the place I just can’t control myself. They really do get better day by day. As far as people skills are concerned, for the multiple times I have visited I have had no problems.
not just their Samosas are good. Their Pani puri is the addictive.
