Nordic Sommelier Champion, multiple Norwegian Sommelier Champion, head sommelier of Happolati restaurant in Oslo, and all round lovely fellow, Simon Zimmerman tells us how things are in his part of the world.
Just the other week I was remembering back to years pre-COVID, and some of the marvellous times I have shared with friends in Austria. I was looking through some old pics on Google Photos and realised that I had not communicated with sommelier Simon Zimmerman for many a year.
I first met Simon on an educational trip to Kamptal and the Wachau way back in May/June of 2011, and looking back on those pictures I decided that I would track him down, have a catch up, and record an interview to see how the hospitality sector is surviving in his hometown of Oslo, Norway.
