Just over a year ago I was enjoying a light lunch with Simon Erlanger at Toronto’s Piano Piano, discussing the pleasures of his rather exquisite Isle Of Harris Distillery‘s gin.
Who would have imagined that some 12 months later we’d be conducting an interview over Zoom, with both of us in lockdown, and a pandemic raging around the globe?
In this interview Simon tells us of the impacts of COVID-19 upon operations at the distillery, the lockdown situation in Scotland and the islands, and the growing success of his distillery’s e-commerce.
Now I’m off to pour myself a well-deserved Isle of Harris gin, as it has been quite the week…
