Riccardo and Jennifer Campinoti purchased the property with a mix of old vines and younger plantings, and established Le Ragnaie in 2003. The organically farmed estate is divided into three distinct parcels across 42 acres in Montalcino.
These vines are the highest of any in Montalcino, some reaching above the DOCG mandated 1,960 feet above sea level. As one of the highest points in the region, it became famous for bird catchers, hence the traditional birdcatchers’ net that graces the label.
We visited Riccardo at the winery in August 2023, and shot this short video of him talking about his lofty estate.
We’re thrilled to finally have his new releases land in Ontario. See here for the wines currently in stock.
Most of our producers are small, independently owned and operated businesses, like ours. You can view our complete portfolio here. Thank you for letting us share these producers and wines with you.
