Casa Piena Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
“The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is gorgeous. Lifted, floral and beautifully perfumed, the 2015 has come together nicely since I last tasted it. The 2015 has so much to offer. Specifically, it is remarkably nuanced for such an overly ripe, racy wine. A rush of sweet red berry, kirsch, mint and rose petal graces the expressive, inviting finish. Tenuta Fanti Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Le Macchiarelle Riserva 2016
This Riserva is planted only in the best vintages, from grapes in Vigna Le Macchiarelle’s galestro soils, planted by Filippo Fanti in 1980. This ferments for more than 1 month before aging 2 years in 500L French tonneaux, and 30 months in bottle prior to release.
“This red has everything – ripe cherry, blackberry and plum fruit, leather, autumn wood, licorice and mineral flavors as well as fine structure and intensity – and all in the right proportions. Bright, balanced and long, with a chalky sensation around the gums from the well-integrated tannins. Best from 2025 through 2045.” 98 points, Bruce Sanderson, winespectator.com
