Malivoire gets into the holiday season…
Although it seems we’ve barely finished the main harvest, one final detail remains. Outdoor temperatures dropping to the “minus” side remind us to be ready for icewine harvest at that magical -8 ºC temperature.
And as 2019 winds down, we’ve arrived at that time of year when gratitude for the special people in our lives expresses itself in… you guessed it, gift giving! Gift shoppers can count on our wine shop to be well-stocked and open 10 am – 5pm, 7 days a week for most of December. Check here for our holiday hours.
Alternatively, ensure that your online wine order is placed for shipping by Wednesday December 11th, for their best chance at arriving by December 24th.

Wine Advice from the wheel of the Fuso, 4 years at Malivoire
This month’s wine pick comes to you from Jemil Muxlow. Jemil is the winery’s classic multitasker. On any given day he may be seen in the vineyard, the cellar, the warehouse, the wine shop or all of the above. If we needed to name a place that is quintessentially Jemil, it would have to be cab of our truck, the “Fuso”, for which Jem is the key holder.
Raised in Dryden, in Ontario’s northwest corner, Jemil arrived in Niagara to study at Brock University. He first came to our attention four years ago when he volunteered to assist the Malivoire Bottling line. This led to a part-time position, which led to full-time, and eventually his “office” in the cab of the Fuso.

Jemil’s winter favourite is our expressive, single-vineyard Moira Vineyard Pinot Noir. Jemil enjoys its versatility and fragrant aromatics, calling it ‘a great balance of terroir and winemaking’.
