Hinterland’s Vicki Samaras and Jonas Newman share a laugh at Toronto’s Vintage Conservatory
As I have mentioned previously, Ontario is now making some of the very best sparkling wines that I have tasted in recent years. In a recent discussion with another veteran Sommelier we touched upon the fact that Hinterland’s stunning sparkling bottlings had steadfastly made their way onto the lists of so many of Toronto’s most wine-savvy restaurants. This has happened not only because the wines are of such a high calibre, but also because of the enthusiasm and passion of the couple behind the label, Vicki Samaras and Jonas Newman.
Although I haven’t seen much of this ebullient couple since they relocated to Prince Edward County, after a couple of glasses of their Whitecap it felt just like old times…
