Giorgio Melandri, perhaps the most amiable and informed Winewriter I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

If anyone on this planet knows the wines of Emilia Romagna it is Giorgio Melandri from the Gambero Rosso guide. Not only is he a veritable tomb of knowledge regarding the wines of this under-appreciated region, he’s also a fantastic fellow to have dinner with.

Good Food Revolution caught up with him in Italy earlier this year and picked his brains regarding his beloved Sangiovese di Romagna.
