Ceretto is one of the most iconic producers in Piedmont. Although established in the late 1800’s, Ceretto really found its path in the 1960’s. After a visit to Burgundy by Bruno & Marcello Ceretto, it was then they realized that quality Barolo & Barbaresco could be produced in Langhe & Roero, where they started purchasing vineyards.
in 1969 the estate owned famed Bricco Asili vineyard was purchased and in the early 1980’s Barolo Roche started to be produced. Today, Ceretto produces 17 organically made wines in different sub zones of Piedmont. Their motto of “The land is the soul of our wines” still holds true today.

2012 Barolo – 93 points – James Suckling
This is a classic Barolo – light garnet in color with Barolo’s quintessential aromas of roses, tart cherries, and hints of truffles. Ceretto’s Barolo DOCG is extraordinarily approachable now, but it will continue to reward the patient wine drinker as it evolves over the course of several years.
2014 Nebbiolo d’Alba ‘Bernardina’ – 90 points – James Suckling
While on the border of the Barolo zone, soils and climate, for technical reasons, the Nebbiolo was not allowed inside the protected area from the prestigious designation. Fermented in stainless steel then old wood for 12-15 months, it shows aromas of violets and raspberries with a soft and elegant finish
2015 Barbera d’Alba ‘Piana’ – 4 Grappoli – Bibenda
The wine-making in steel vats strengthens the characteristics of the variety, enhancing the sense of freshness and olfactory fragrances. In the glass, the wine shows beautiful ruby colors with violet hues, and sensations of fruit, punchy and juicy. In the Piedmontese landscape, Barbera stands out as great food wine. It has racing acidity with a softer edge.
