NOBLE TO YOUR DOOR: DOMAINE FAIVELEY – CHANGING OF THE GUARD
Domaine Faiveley is located in the Historical Côte de Nuits. The Faiveley family has progressively extended its domaine and today owns vineyards in the finest climates in Burgundy – Gevrey-Chambertin, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet, Mercurey and others.
Faiveley exploits more than 10 hectares of Grand Crus and nearly 25 hectares of Premier Crus, including several climates that are exclusively owned by the family.
Started in 1825 Faiveley has undergone many transformations over the years, but today it is run by Erwan Faiveley. Erwan took over in 2007; the seventh generation of winemaking. Known in years past as a more ‘powerful’ style of Burgundy, Erwan has returned to the roots of making the wines more feminine and approachable. He has achieved this through more care of the vineyards using biodynamic practices, and manipulating the barrel aging.
The 2015 Vintage has been lauded by many critics as a great one for reds. We have brought in a small parcel of this wine that is packed in cases of 6.

In the nose layers of decadently rich red fruit – juicy, detailed and vibrant offering a nice transparent view to the terroir. On the palate, very energetic fruit… sexy and very generous with tremendous depth and refinement. It’s an exuberant wine – offering so much delicate and decadent fruit – and still offering a vibrant freshness and a lovely energy.
