‘The 2020 Pinot Grigio Mepari is impossible to ignore, blending richness with vitality. A bouquet of white flowers, baked apples and almond custard keeps the taster at the edge of the glass. It’s texturally deep, silky and supple, with ripe orchard fruits up from balanced by stimulating mineral tones and brisk acidity. This finished spicy yet fresh, leaving the mouth watering as a salty flourish remains. The Mepari hails from Scarbolo’s oldest Pinot Grigio vines, averaging around 30 years old, and are planted in soils of silt and limestone. Today it shows a bit of oak influence, which will surely integrate over time.’
