The Easter bunny has been around a long time. In the early sixteenth century in Alsace and the Rhineland, children made nests of their bonnets and hid them around the house to be filled with eggs by the ‘osterhase’ (Easter hare). .. part of the Easter festivities to celebrate rebirth and the coming of spring. The happy tradition continues and is always a lot of fun. You’ll find eggs, chicks, bunnies and treats of all kinds in store this weekend to have the best egg hunt ever.
At All The Best we are happy to introduce a treat for grown-ups too. Chef Chris McDonald and his team of chocolatiers at Xococava have developed a range of spicy chocolate tiles. Pair each tile with a selected cheese for a very special taste sensation. Select the perfect wine to go alongside and you will enjoy a truly delicious experience.
This weekend, April 23, 11AM, we offer you a taste: Chocolate Tiles with Four Cheese Pairings: Cheeses specially selected from All The Best Cheese Room.
White Chocolate with Fennel Pollen paired with classic Brie de Meaux, Milk Chocolate with Black Olive paired with Salt Spring Island fresh chèvre, Dark Chocolate with Cumin paired with an artisan, washed-rind cheese, Mont Jacob, and Dark Chocolate with Rosemary and Black Walnut paired with a Quebec blue cheese, Ciel de Charlevois.
Too bad, but you’ll have to drop in at the Summerhill LCBO, just a few steps north of us, to pick up your wine. Chef Chris will give you advice on pairings.
Join in the fun. Happy Easter.
All the best.
