Château Pesquié is a pioneering estate in the Côtes de Ventoux AOC, an appellation in the Rhône Valley that sits beneath Mont de Ventoux: the highest massif in Provence. The estate has been in the same family for three generations and they began to focus on sustainable farming in the 1980s before moving to fully organic methods in the early 2000s. Now in the capable hands of brothers Fred and Alex Chaudière, Château Pesquié comprises 100 hectares of vines, all benefitting from the unique microclimate found in the shadow of the mountain.
The estate produces a range of reds, whites, and rosés made from the traditional varieties of the region. Today we’re highlighting the estate’s flagship wines, the ‘Terrasses’ and the ‘Quintessence’, as well as the ‘Edition 1912M’ (which will be available in Vintages beginning March 18), each of which is a stunning example of what this special region is capable of producing.
2021 ‘Terrasses’ Rouge
A deep bluish/purple colour offers up notes of sweet blueberries, black cherry liqueur and licorice. The wine hits the palate with energetic fruit intensity, an amazing texture, and a long, bright finish.

2020 Château Pesquié ‘Edition 1912M ‘
“From higher elevation parcels and mostly Grenache, the 2020 Ventoux Edition 1912M offers pretty strawberry and cherry fruits as well as classic Southern Rhône notes of peppery herbs, spice, and licorice. It has a beautiful sense of minerality on the palate, is medium-bodied, balanced, and just a beautiful wine.”
