We’ve reached another landmark in the growing season – our grapes have entered veraison. Veraison represents the transition from berry growth to berry ripening, meaning the vines are now concentrating all their energy into ripening the fruit. This is evident in the gorgeous colour change in our Pinot Noir grapes.
It is a perfect time visit the winery and pick up the 2010 Churchside Pinot Noir ($44.95). A barrel selection from the north vineyard, this pinot exudes rich fruits – red plum, raspberry with a hint of coffee, cocoa, smoke and wet cedar. It’s tightly structured and meant to cellar. Your patience will be richly reward when this Pinot reaches its full complexities.
