Introducing Campbell Kind Wines

An international collection of sustainable, carbon-neutral wines.

Steven Campbell, President here at Lifford Wine & Spirits, is taking sustainable wine to new heights. We’re thrilled to finally unveil Steven’s anticipated new project. Campbell Kind Wines is an international brand created through partnerships with some of the best winemakers from around the world who share a commitment to environmental winemaking. The CKW project currently includes eight certified Carbon Neutral wines from six countries, the first three of which will be launch at the Toronto Summerhill LCBO on October 23rd, 2019.

These wines are produced in small lots and are designed to over-deliver on price while allowing Canadian wine lovers to reduce their carbon footprint one sip at a time. To achieve carbon zero status, the climate impact of these wines will be measured by Carbonzero, an organization that specializes in determining carbon impacts. The carbon footprint of the wine production and shipping will be offset by the planting of trees in conjunction with Tree Canada.

Since 2005 Lifford has been a Bull Frog Powered, Carbon Neutral company. In conjunction Tree Canada, Lifford has planted over 90,000 trees across Canada.

The whole Lifford team is proud to announce that, in recognition of his outstanding dedication to environmental stewardship, Steven Campbell has just been awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from York University.

CKW 2018 Tinto
$19.95
Ribera del Duero, Spain
made by Telmo Rodriguez

A blend of Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) with other indigenous Spanish varieties, this big wine thunders out of the glass with ripe blueberry, plum, cherry pie and vanilla bean. The palate is all bulky tannins and youthful fruit, with a substantial finish. Intriguing now, but this will reward patience.

CKW 2018 Sauvignon Blanc
$19.95
Marlborough, New Zealand
made by Steve Smith, MW

Super-attractive, sophisticated Savvy bursting with gooseberry, lime, crunchy green apple, honeydew melon and freshly cut grass. It’s a real lip-smacker on the palate, with piercing, zippy acidity. Brilliant for fried fish, it’ll also go nicely alongside green salads with sheep’s milk cheese.

CKW 2018 Syrah
$14.95
Western Cape, South Africa
made by Bruce Jack

An absolutely stunning value, this delivers complex suggestions of dark cherry, date, fig, tilled earth and a sprinkling of cracked pepper. Fine tannins, spicy fruit, a touch of prickly heat and a chewy finish. Nice elegance and restraint, especially given the boldness of the flavours.
