Just last week boutique agents All The Right Grapes hosted an intimate tasting at Toronto’s Bar Raval where a handful of the city’s better sommeliers and buyers sampled a range of still wines and Manzanilla sherries (plus a unique Vermut) from Spain’s Cádiz, Somontano, and Ribera del Duero regions.
All of these were the the delightful vinous fruits of the labours of the (almost) two-centuries-old house of Barbadillo, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and were extremely well received by those fortunate enough to be there.
After the tasting I grabbed the extremely knowledgeable (not to mention chatty!) Oscar Bayo for a quick interview in a sunny backalley off Palmerston.
