Oceanwise in Ontario: One Year On

It has been around a year since we covered the launch of Ocean Wise in Ontario. In the last 12 months so much has happened, with Ocean Wise partnering with an astounding number of suppliers, retailers, and restaurants.

Wine of The Week: 2008 Luigi Giusti Lacrima di Morro d’Alba Marches Italy

Last week we tried a bottle of this cracking wine alongside a lovely rigatoni pasta dish with spicy Italian sausage, garlic, rapini, and olives. It really worked a treat.There’s no doubt that this wine is quite different from most bottlings on the shelves this Fall and I am in no doubt that this wine may be polarising. Much like cilantro, you are either going to love it or utterly despise it.

Innis and Gunn

Hailing from Edinburgh, you would simply not believe the number of times I have been given gift packs of Innis and Gunn’s Edinburgh-brewed beers over the years. I will admit that I had never been particularly fond of their oak-aged style of beers until I was invited to a Brewer’s dinner at Toronto’s Bymark restaurant recently. By the end of the dinner I was completely blown away, and I finally “got” Innis and Gunn’s very distinctive beers.
