Oliver Maxwell AKA Olimax has been a friend of mine since back in my university leather-trousered crazy clubbing years in London, UK, 89/90/91.
Throughout that time I’ve known him variously as a barfly, musical artist, producer, promoter, web designer, graphic designer, photographer, and unarguably one of the world’s greatest bon vivants; I have indulged in a couple of his infamous long lunches and still have the scarring on my poor liver to prove it…
Last year he added yet another string to his bow after relocating from Barcelona, his home for nigh on 15 years, to the Catalonian coastal town of Calella and opening Bar Gros, a bar/restaurant that he describes as a Vermuteria Gastrónomica.
Unable to open back up for the season due to the Spanish pandemic lockdown, Oli found himself as the bar’s sole customer for a couple of months…
