Winemaker Nikki Callaway joins Laughing Stock Vineyards team.
Arterra Wines Canada is pleased to announce that on Monday June 18th, 2018 Nikki Callaway will join the Laughing Stock Vineyards team as winemaker. David Enns continues as executive winemaker and together they will pursue David’s passion for creating premium Bordeaux style blends and highly acclaimed wines from the Naramata Bench.
Nikki Callaway has been making wine in the Okanagan Valley for nearly 10 years and most recently joins the team from Quails’ Gate Estate Winery. In 2011, her Okanagan Pinot Noir made while at Martin’s Lane Winery won the Decanter World Wine Awards, ‘World’s Best Pinot Noir’ in the under £15 category. She started her winemaking career in Bordeaux and earned an excellent viticulture and oenology education, by understanding old world winemaking techniques, in particular the diversity of grape growing and production.
“We are thrilled to have Nikki join our winemaking team with her experience and notable record of crafting beautiful wines. We recently walked through the vineyards together, shared the excitement of curating exceptional fruit and collaborating on the next generation of Laughing Stock wines,” says David Enns, executive winemaker, Laughing Stock Vineyards.
Laughing Stock is located on the revered Naramata Bench and their flagship wine, Portfolio, is considered one of Canada’s iconic wines receiving impressive accolades year over year, most recently earning a 94 score on the 2015 vintage.
