Celebrating a new partnership at the soon-to-open Reforma on Baldwin Street, Toronto.

Good Food Revolution first happened upon young Andres Marquez back in 2009, at the very first Charlie’s Burgers dinner located at The Fine Wine Reserve, where Andres was assisting Charlie AKA Franco Stalteri. Immediately taken by his genial nature and genuine Mexican charm, we became quick friends and remained as close as ever over the intervening years.

When Andres opened Queen West’s Fonda Lola back in 2014, Good Food Revolution were there to capture the action. Fonda Lola became a popular place, with Andres, a natural host, filling the role of Front-Of-House Ringmaster with considerable panache. For many of the clientele, Marquez WAS the Fonda Lola experience, and he didn’t disappoint.

With this in mind, we were bemused to discover recently that he was no longer associated with the establishment he had helped to build up from nothing to a extremely popular, boisterous fonda. Further investigation revealed that Andres had relocated to Baldwin Street to partner with Keyvan Foroughi and open a new Mexican restaurant in the old Agave y Aguacate space.

We caught up with them just before the launch of their new project, Reforma.
