Le Sommelier 585

In this Saturday’s VINTAGES release, LCBO is launching the 2012 Primarius Pinot Noir from Oregon. This wine is a tremendous value at less than $25, and in fact, was awarded 90 points and BEST BUY by Wine & Spirits Magazine.

Primarius wines embody sheer elegance where delicate flavors give way to full fruit expression; providing the most pleasurable drinking experience for wine lovers. Primarius wines represent the finest cool climate regions in Oregon and are a true reflection of the most famed varietal of the state, Pinot Noir. Latin for – distinguished – Primarius promises sophistication in every sip and exceeds expectations in quality, flavor and value.

I hope you enjoy this wine as much as I enjoyed sourcing it for you! Available by the bottle in the VINTAGES section of your local LCBO store… for now… get them while you can.

TASTING NOTES

Primarius Pinot Noir Oregon 2012

“This bright pinot has a gamy-like scent, pronounced raspberry flavours and smokiness, like lapsang souchong tea. There’s an interesting tension between the fruit and the savory elements, and more complexity than you’d expect to find at this price.”

Score: 90 points – “BEST BUY”

(Wine & Spirits Magazine, Aug. 2014)

Varietals: 100% Pinot Noir
