The Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers (CAPS) Best Ontario Sommelier Competition is held every two years, with the winner eligible to compete for the Best Canadian Sommelier title.
We are pleased to announce the 4th CAPS Best Ontario Sommelier Competition will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at The Fifth Grill and Terrace (225 Richmond St. West, Toronto, ON).
This year, the winner will be eligible to compete for the Best Canadian Sommelier title in Halifax, NS in September 2012.
Who can participate?

Schedule of Events
8:30 am Check-In
9:30 am Qualifying Round (Written theory exam and blind tasting)
12:30 pm Announcement of 4 Finalists
1 – 4 pm Final Competition
(Service and Practical Exam – set under a restaurant setting and in front of an audience.)
4 – 6 pm Walk-around Wine Tasting
6pm Cocktail Reception
7pm Gala Dinner * ($160/ticket) – winners announced and prizes awarded
How to Register?
The registration form can be found on the CAPS website. Please fill out the form and send it with a $50 registration fee to the attention of Competition Registrations, CAPS, 260 Adelaide Street West, PO Box 25, Toronto, Ontario, M5A 1N1.
The $50 Registration Fee may be paid by cheque, made out to the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers, and mailed with the Registration Form. Alternatively, the fee may be paid by Interac email transfer to treasurer@capsontario.ca. Please ensure the Registration Form is mailed to the above address.
All Registrations and forms must be received by Monday, April 9, 2012.
